Although this course is technically open to the public, there are a few hoops to jump through to gain entry. First, it will cost you. A green fee of $1000 during peak season (March to May and September to October) and $750 during non-peak season. Second, you must stay at the MGM Hotel. And third, the course is only open to the public between Monday and Thursday. If you can manage all that, it is well worth the trip.

Wynn Golf Club (Las Vegas, NV) 

Wynn Golf Club is nestled right in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Renovated in 2019 to make room for a casino and hotel addition, this course is a mainstay in the Las Vegas golf scene. For example, celebrities such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin were ground regulars back in the day. Still, Wynn Golf Club continues to attract beloved celebrities and high-caliber golf events. 

This par-70 course contains six par 3s, lush fairways, and incredible views. However, the focus at Wynn is undoubtedly the customer experience. Boasting a 4.5-star rating on Golf Digest and a perfect 5/5 rating on Golf Pass, the main consensus among reviewers is the pristine atmosphere curated by the attentive staff on the grounds and in the clubhouse. 

Unlike Shadow Creek, you don’t have to stay at any specific hotel, which is great if you already have your accommodations planned. With a green fee of $600, the course provides a premium golf experience. Golfers can enjoy the stunning waterfall at the eighteenth hole, adding to the overall ambiance of the course.

Cascata Golf Club (Boulder City, NV)

A thirty-minute drive away from Las Vegas sits Cascata Golf Club. Nestled in the foothills of the River Mountain Range, Cascata offers some breathtaking views of Nevada’s unique landscape. Framed by jagged mountain cliffs and filled with endless trickling streams, this course was voted the sixth-best course in the state by Golf Digest in 2023, and it’s easy to see how it earned that title.

Filled with lush fairways, perfectly manicured greens, and elevated tee shots, this course has everything to offer, including tour-class caddies for every player. Also, don’t miss out on the luxurious 37,000-square-foot clubhouse with a full dining room, flat-screen TV-lined lounges, and even a custom cigar room.

This course offers a slightly more modest green fee of under $400 and is open to the public. Just be mindful of the Big-horned sheep that regularly visit the area. Those horns aren’t just for attracting mates. 

Las Vegas Golf Center (Las Vegas, NV)

Are you looking for something a little more casual? Located a few miles south of the airport, The Las Vegas Golf Center is a great place to go for a cheap beer and nine holes without sacrificing the quality of the course. 

This course has a two-tiered practice range, a challenging but rewarding putting green, full views of the strip and a full-service bar with live music on the weekends. As a bonus, the course is illuminated with lights, so you can enjoy a round even if you happen to sleep in too long.

This might not be the premier course in the area, but if you’re looking for a fun place to hang out with friends and family and work on your swings, Las Vegas Golf Center is the place to go. 

Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course (Stateline, NV)

Annual host of the American Century Championship, Edgewood sits at the edge of Lake Tahoe with a stunning backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Described as challenging but fair, this course attracts some of the best players in the world, such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Lee Trevino.  

This 18-hole course has pristine grounds and even better amenities, with a fantastic clubhouse and a drink cart that comes around every few holes. The back nine holes truly shine as you come through the wooded first half right to the water's edge. It’s a challenging course, but at over 6,000 feet, the ball travels an extra ten percent.
